M. KEYS JR.
Most Worshipful Harden M. Keys Jr. was the second of three children born to
Harden and Marie Keys in Tacoma, WA January 29, 1954. After graduating from
Stadium High School in 1972, he went on to higher education by attending
Fort Steilacoom Community College, Tacoma Community College, UW Tacoma
Campus and four years at Bates Vocational Technical Institution. He
regularly attends church at New Life Baptist church in Lacey, WA.
Washington.
M\W\Keys has a very involved Masonic career to date. His masonic career
began in 1986 when he was initiated, passed and raised to the sublime degree
of a Master Mason in Egyptian Lodge #44, Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand
Lodge, F & A M, State of Washington and Jurisdiction. He was appointed
Senior Steward, elected Junior and Senior Warden and eventually elected to
the oriental chair as Worshipful Master in 1990. Under
M\W\Keys leadership
as Master; his lodge garnered the coveted “Lodge of the Year” honors at the
annual communications.
Continuing his Masonic career in Washington State he served as Special
District Deputy Grand Master in 1995, District Deputy Grand Master District
#2 (1996-2000) Grand Junior Warden (2002) Grand Senior Warden (2002-2004)
Deputy Grand Master (2004-2006). On July 12, 2006
M\W\Keys was elected to
the highest honor that can be bestowed in Masonry--Most Worshipful Grand
Master of Masons, State of Washington and Jurisdiction culminating 20 years
of service to the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Washington. In July 2007
he was re-elected Most Worshipful Grand Master.
M\W\Keys
joined Scottish Rite Masonry in 1987 by becoming a member of Cascadian
Consistory #75; a Noble of Yemen Temple #152 (A.E.A.O.N.M.S.) and elected
Illustrious Potentate in 1995. He is a Past High Priest of Holy Royal
Arch Masons; Past Trice Illustrious Master of Royal and Select Masters; and
Honorary Past Grand Commander of Great Northwest Commandery #2 Knights
Templar. In 2005
M\W\Harden
M. Keys was coronated a Grand Inspectors General
of the United Supreme Council, A.A.S.R. (P.H.A) by receiving the Honorary
Thirty-third and last degree in Masonry in Chicago, Illinois as a member of
the class “Raymond J. Lewis”.
He
is married to Bobbie Keys and together they have five (5) adult aged
children: Lamar C. Alexander (deceased), Sheree Hutchinson,
Frances Marie Keys, Harden M. Keys III and youngest Dominick Hutchensen. They
are also blessed with nine (9) grandchildren: Kiante, Dacia, Shay, Harden IV,
Titan, Kendall, Marcel, Isabella, and Jalynn.
